Block Paving

Why are Driveways important?

Beacuse your driveway is the introduction to your property, which is probable the biggest investment any of us ever make.

There are a wide variety of products to choose from which can complement your home, whether you choose a traditional approach or adopt a modern more elegant style to fit in with a newly built property.

Recent legislation Changes - The permitted development rights allowing householders to pave over their front garden for hardstanding have changed.

As of last October planning permission is now required to lay traditional impermeable driveways that allow uncontrolled runoff of rainwater from front gardens to roads, because this can contribute to flooding and pollution of water courses.

However, householders will not require planning permission if they use permeable paving, or have sufficient drainage or soakaway to ensure runoff from non permeable surfaces does not go onto roads.

The major suppliers of paving all have a range of domestic permeable paving products that allow the infiltration of rainfall into the watercourse in a slow and measured way, as close as possible to the natural process of rain falling on undisturbed ground.

Drivestyle Paving

The Drivestyle paving block is the most commonly used range of paving blocks manufactured by Brett. They come in a wide variety of colours and when installed correctly will produce an excellent and long lived surface.

Tarmac Drives

We are now able to install tarmac driveways as required

Driveway Paving Features

This is an example of why block paving is favoured above others as a driveway surface. The wide range of colours and inbuilt features are nicely demonstrated by this example of a circle built into an Antique block paved driveway.
